With its bluish gray coat, yellow beak and white body, the Gabian or Yellow-legged Gull is well known to all Provençals. In Marseille, it has even become emblematic since we can see them flying in Les Goudes, above the Old Port or in the legendary Vallon des Auffes district.
First cousin of the Atlantic gull, the Gabian gull is found mainly on the Mediterranean coasts, notably in the Camargue and on the Marseille islands.
