Street musicians appear at the crib. They are two of the oldest crib santons, first appearing around 1820. Their instrument is described as a “vielle”. It is a stringed key board instrument which is found in the folklore of many regions of France. The Carbonels describe them as “hurdy-gurdy man and woman”.
