Description
This peasant woman is carrying a bundle of fresh cut lavender that she cut with her bill hook. Lavender is a scent we associate with the southern part of France. Fields of lavender color the landscape in late spring. The flowers are harvested and used as the scent for soaps, perfumes and sachets, among other things.
