La Tropézienne (St. Tropez woman)

This resident of the Ponche district in Saint Tropez is the daughter of a merchant ship captain. On this Bravade Day (traditional festival organized annually in Saint Tropez to commemorate the defense of the city by its inhabitants during numerous attacks from both land and sea), our pretty Tropézienne is wearing a large traditional flat round hat made of woven straw (the capelina), and white and pink canvas skirts, clothes of the inhabitants of the now famous Varois port.
